Ashley’s tattoo tips

Easy!
For a sleeve:
Think of 4 main images
Outer forearm, inner forearm, inner bicep, outer bicep.
Now think in shapes, and what’s most important.
-Outer bicep, The largest, most important image. (Ie: lion head or girls face)
-Inner bicep, Round images (clock) things that may be important to you but not flow in the sleeve (script)
-Outer forearm- Narrow images (hourglass) usually not great for faces as it can round too much.
-Inner forearm- narrow, faces work here because it is flat. Ideal placement.
For a leg sleeve think of 5 images
Hip to knee is your largest area.
Knee to ankle.
I think of the outer leg as one canvas that flows together and the most impactful visually.
Knee cap-I like to design a knee cap and work around it so you have something cool on your knee and don’t end up with dead space.
Inner calf- prime spot, never warps, can fit anything.
Inner thigh-this spot tends to warp and elongate.
Backpiece:
1-2 images working together, minimal fillers.
Think of what you want for filler, I like roses and floral, smoke, wind bars.
